There’s a new Halloween character in town. His name is Benny the Bat, and he never leaves home without his Halloween Cack. It was time for Halloween to get it’s own character, so here it is !!!
Benny the Bat and his Halloween Sack

Hello everyone !
Here’s a story for you about Halloweens newest ambassador, Benny the Bat !
Benny is a bat and he carries his Halloween sack, that he fills with treats for boys and girls that are too sick or stuck in the hospital and can’t go trick or treating on their own.
All through the year Benny and his friends gather what they can to be ready for their special night, Halloween ! You see, this is too big a job for just Benny, he and his friends coordinate using their echolocation. By communicating this way they can get the job done all in a night.
Benny didn’t always dedicate his year to donating. That happened after he got hurt flying one night. A human saw him lying on the ground and picked him up. The human was careful to use gloves, as you should whenever touching wildlife. Benny felt more at ease when he saw the human knew what he was doing. Benny had been scared, he had been taught to fear humans, but this human didn’t scare him at all. He took Benny home and nursed him back to health. And one day when Benny felt strong enough, the human set Benny free. Benny was excited, but sad to leave the human that had helped him.
It was then and there that Benny decided to help human children, by doing what he could. That was the start, Benny had met other bats that had been helped by humans, they wanted to pay it back too. So they formed an alliance with bats all over the world and made a plan. And every year their plan got a little bigger. Soon everyone knew about Benny the Bat and his Halloween Sack! And children that would otherwise go without on Halloween, were able to enjoy their night and not be so alone.
So if you’re out trick or treating and see a bat with a sack you are probably looking at Benny or one of his friends. Say hello! You just might be making a life long friend !
