Starting in 1978 and ending in 2000, I worked in the music indusrty as a technician. My journey started in the bars and rock clubs on Long Island, New york, and eventually took me to arenas and stadiums around the world working for KISS, Alice Cooper, Stone Temple Pilots, and many other groups. This is my story. From club gigs after school as a teenager, to concerts on every continent on the planet. I’ve been there and back, and survived to tell the story. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed living it.

This picture was sent to me recently, it was taken of one of the tribute bands that played during the KISS convention tour. That’s me on the far right, back when I worked for KISS. Those were great days!!

My book, “We Are The Road Crew” recalls my days touring as a technician for KISS, Alice Cooper, Stone Temple Pilots, Rainbow, Debbie Gison and many other artists, it was a career I loved and was fortunate to have. This book is my personal tribute to a career I loved.  Here’s a link:

Once again I will be giving away Kindle versions of my book, “We Are The Road Crew”, for free this Saturday and Sunday. All that I ask is that when you have a moment , please post a review of some kind on Amazon, as this helps new authors such as myself  out a lot. The book is about my career in Rock and Roll, starting out in the clubs of Long Island where I’m from, to my years touring the world with KISS, Alice Cooper and many other artists. Thanks for your support. I will provide a link:

I’m working with John G  who runs the One Hand Drum Company and for Rick Allen (of Def Leppard) StikRick is something that Rick does to help raise funding and awareness for his Raven Drum charity (which helps various groups including the Wounded Warrior Project and active military, troubled youth, and so on). I’ll be wearing his shirt at various shows and events to help raise awareness. The first stop was my birthday celebration the other night. Check out for more infoCheck out when you can.

I have mentioned earlier my friend George Silk in Japan. He was a shopkeeper that sold Kimonos and all the other touristy stuff you would want. But his sales approach was unique. he would invite you in to hang out and give you beer. If there were enough of you, he would invite you back for a barbecue. He had this little patch of grass in front of his store where he set up his grill and chairs, it was awesome. I have photos here with the 1990 Cooper band and crew at the BBQ, T Bone Carradonna, Ralph, Batty, Eric Singer, Al Pitrelli, Derek Sherinian, Putter T…Everyone came out. We hung together like brothers on that tour.

Two years ago I published a book about my days on the road. It”s called “We Are The Road Crew”. I’ll include a link. If anyone who has been or is currently on the road wants any help or advice writing your own, please e mail me at   Thanks, Ken Barr
