My newest book, “Thirty-Three Wednesdays” is finally complete and will be available soon. Please stay tuned for updates !!

Here is an excerpt :

Introduction

Love can be a confusing thing, an elusive thing to chase. And finding it, and having all the factors line up. Maybe you meet right after one of you gets married, or decides to take a job cross country. So not only are we looking for true love, but we have to time it right or it won’t work.

That’s where this story begins, by finding true love. No the factors did not line up. I had missed my window by a little bit. But I was determined. I would never give up on love, not even if it took years. This wasn’t something I set out to do, fall in love with someone so far away that, whether or not she was happy, Janelle was not available. There was family to consider and other road blocks I was never privy to. But all I knew was that I was feeling true love for the first time in my life, so yes, I kept the blinders on.

So what you hold here is the tale of something special.

Why 33 Wednesdays you ask? The end came on a Wednesday, and as we had never gone long without talking, I started counting the weeks every Wednesday as things progressed. Finally, at 33 weeks I stopped counting.

That being said I think it’s time to put a few things out there. The first is that I will own all of this, all the mistakes and hurt. I could have left at any time, but I chose to stay in it and keep trying. I’ll also own the fact that I have issues that contributed to all this. I’m a fixer by nature, so the harder things got the harder I tried. It’s not in my nature to walk away.

It’s up to me whether I stay or leave; I can’t blame anyone other than myself. No one can hurt me unless I let them, period.

If only we could see ourselves from the outside, and realize the answers to our problems are right in front of us…

Sad and Alone

I think that real love lasts forever, that’s where I got this idea. Ken

Sleep Softly My Love

Lay your head down my love,

I’ll hold you as you drift away,

Hold you in my arms,

Hold you in my heart,

Hold you as I always have,

I’ll hold you forever,

Even after you’re gone,

I’ll hold you always,

With my heart and soul,

Until I see you again,

And hold you once more,

Hold you and never let go.

When you have fallen as far as you can, you have no where to go but up…

When you have fallen as far as you can, you have no where to go but up...

When you have fallen as far as you can, you have no where to go but up…

Gypsy Woman

Gypsy woman, deal me again,

These Tarot cards are not my friend,

Each day begins, then it’s over,

One by one, all wasted sober.

I breathe you in, you breathe me too,

We are as one, I become you,

Cocaine whispers, heroin eyes,

Truth becomes love, one of life’s lies.

Never knowing what ours could be,

The red light obscures your beauty,

Hold the spoon over the candle,

Life is just too hard to handle.

The Ouija board tells our story,

Maps out our life, all our glory,

Take my hand, hold on forever,

We will always be together.

I have just begun putting my words overlayed on to images to paint a more vivid picture. I am posting my first three here. Ken

Hold Back The Rain

Take Me Home

The Wreckage

Forgotten

As I sit here next to your grave,

So overgrown and uncared for,

I think about the life you lived,

And wonder if you’re remembered.

In life you were always alone,

Looking for something or someone,

Trying hard but going nowhere,

Letting your life just pass you by.

But the sand in the hourglass,

Eventually ran its course,

In the end it found you, alone,

So many years, nothing to show.

Laid to rest on a cold fall day,

All the chapters are now written,

Yes as I look upon my grave,

I wish I had done so much more.

Renaissance

My new book, “Renaissance”, went live on Kindle this morning. Now it is available in paperback on Amazon. With this book I have made a serious attempt at change and growth. I have also broadened the subject matter, from gladiators of ancient Rome, to Vincent van Gogh, and a wide variety of other topics. Hope you like it, thanks for looking, Ken

Renaissance

A fierce warrior of the gladiator games of ancient Rome, Flamma is still one of the better known gladiators. This is a tribute to him, someone I believe, knew in his heart who and what he was, and was true to himself, to the end.  It’s true, legends never die. Ken

Flamma

A gladiator unrivaled,

The arena was his domain,

A fierce fighter, a champion,

Fearless warrior until the end.

Four times offered the rudis, his,

Freedom from the arena games,

Given the chance to fight no more,

To spare his life and walk away.

But four times he refused freedom,

Returning to the arena,

Returning to the bloody games,

And dying there upon the sand.

Many have speculated why,

He turned down freedom when offered,

I think he was true to himself,

Knowing in his heart who he was,

Gladiator until the end.

Some would say he died a legend,

But true legends don’t ever die.
